GOODBYE TO DOROTHY PARK........ Dorothy Park, my dance teacher for most of my youth, passed away on February 22, 2008 at age 94. Dorothy was an incredible influence in my life--and that of many young women in Santa Fe--because of her talent, creativity, and most especially, her generosity of spirit.
I tried to photograph some of the astonishing photos from the display at her memorial services to demonstrate the wide sweep of her life and accomplishments, but unfortunately, my photos are a very pale copy of the originals. This is baby Dorothy with her mother--who lived with Dorothy for the last twenty years of her life and who passed away at 100.

Our precious kitty Topaz was apparently hit by a car a few nights ago. She was missing for 24 hrs. and when she returned, she was dragging one leg and had lacerations on the other. Once inside, she hid until morning, and this photo was taken when we finally found her well camouflaged in the fiesta closet....
Topaz after medical intervention. She will be a three-legged cat for a while. One leg is taped to her body to immobilize it so that her dislocated hip can resettle in it's ball-joint and eventually the pin holding it in can be removed. Topaz is not a very jovial soul to begin with and this convalescence will probably be very tough on her and on her relationship with us humans as she resents our force-feeding her medicine. Please pray for her and us. She has already suffered so very much in her short life it seems that she deserves some really quality time left for fun and love.
