That blends in with the multi-color theme on our back deck that we have remodeled into an "outside room".................

And sadly, this summer also includes quite a few funerals for folks we loved: Mrs. Sandoval, Louise's mother; Diego, our friend Pete's son; and our beloved friend, Rita Melady...................

Even this evening, we are en route to a rosary remembrance...................

But sometimes, Summer is a time for parties...............

And all in all, Summertime is a time to be enjoyed by one and all!...................

PARTY SATURDAY

The day begins with our little Winston getting his rest under the beatific gaze of a holy relic..................

Then it is off to the Garage Sales with Sisi and la familia..................

Back home we change clothes for the first of three gala parties. (The other two have been covered in earlier posts.)......................

This party is to celebrate Trish's completion of the arduous requirements to become a Nurse Practitioner..........................

And a lot of Trish's Mama Theresa's friends are on hand to say: "JOB WELL DONE!"....................................................

SANTA FE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARDS BANQUET

Dwight and I are totally twitterpated because we have been invited as honored guests at..........

A red-carpet affair!!--The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet, because.................

I had the honor of being selected as Bienvenidos (a Chamber auxiliary) Volunteer of the Year!........................

Joy, out new president and Joann and Jerry, our out-going co-presidents were also in attendance............................

Due to budget restraints, instead of a sit-down dinner, we were treated to a vast array of appetizers from about forty or so Santa Fe Restaurants. The eateries were most generous and put on their finest spreads because they had an opportunity to impress the very type of folks (ourselves excluded) who might have the bucks to spend at their places or to hire them as caterers for splendid affairs...................

Dwight is definitely enjoying the feast...............

Joy realizes that this is just one of many affairs she will be attending as Bienvenidos President.............

Was happy to run into high school friend Kathy--who is a big-wig at First National Bank......................

Speaking of "big-wigs"--even Santa Fe's mayor--David Coss--seems to be delighted to see my name up "in lights" as I receive my award..........................

"Oooooh Cyrus, you're so BIG and Tall".................................................

Hug, hug, kiss, kiss............................

"You like me, you REALLY like me!"............................

It's Jerry's turn for his fifteen minutes of fame..............................
