GOODBYE CHARLIE--WE HARDLY KNEW YE!
We are sorry to inform you that our beloved pet--Charlie, the monumental kitty, has passed away.
Charlie was apparently on his way home when he was hit by a car.
Charlie was a truly loving pet and was a true friend to all the other pets--especially the dogs. Dwight says that Charlie thought he was a dog because he felt such comraderie with the rest of the dogs--and like the proverbial dog, Charlie was truly man's best friend. We will never forget him.

The only truly dead are those who have been forgotten. (Jewish Saying)

A day for gathering, feasting, and remembering

"Man: An animal (whose)...chief occupation is extermination of other animals and his own species, which, however, multiplies with such insistent rapidity as to infest the whole habitable earth and Canada" Ambrose Bierce, THE DEVIL'S DICTIONARY

Sal also quotes Ambrose Bierce:
"Woman: An animal....having a rudimentary susceptibility to domestication...The species is the most widely distributed of all beasts of prey... The woman is omnivorous and can be taught not to talk.

Danny reflects on W.C. Fields: "Women are like elephants to me. I like to look at them but I wouldn't want to own one.".

DIXON STUDIO TOUR
On a clear fall day in November we set out to explore the Dixon Valley to the north and to enjoy the Dixon Studio Tour that took place at fifty-four sites throughout the village. Waymon had introduced us to a promising young painter--Clarence Medina--at Spanish Market, and we had been looking forward to seeing his new work and his home studio. It turned out to be a wonderful day--the weather was sparkling crisp, the scenery was beautiful, the residents of Dixon warmly welcomed all visitors, and the Mexican food was delicious! All in all, it was a day worth remembering.........
