THE LAVENDER FESTIVAL
THE LAVENDER FESTIVAL
We're all set for the drive to the Los Ranchos area of Albuquerque for the annual Lavender Festival.....Topaz (dangling foot and all) thinks we are crazy to go so far for some nice smelling weeds.........
But she doesn't know that the real attraction is that cousin Kelly is for the first time selling her beautiful hand made quilted goods near the festival.....
All labeled with her personal tag................
Unfortunately, the powers that be forced Kelly to move from her primo spot right at the entrance to the Lavender Festival to another position under Loretta's grand arch at the entrance to her property..............
At the festival itself, there is no parking--everyone must be bussed or walk to the tented grounds.........
Where they can purchase absolutely anything with a lavender theme or scent. Hay rides were also available............
This booth had a little bit of everything, I was happy to buy a vintage dress in the only enclosed building on the site where vendors including an Antique Dealer set up shop........
Dwight also enjoyed some of the food treats available...........
We're heading back now. The tree I am leaning against is on the site of the Lavender Fair proper, and across this large meadow, you can spot Loretta's driveway entrance. So close, but yet, so far...........
Kelly is taking a philosophical approach to her decreased sales opportunities in her new location.....
And the girls know that this will probably be just Kellys first venture because she is both talented and artistic.............
Dwight enjoys a live demonstration by Pattie..........
So ends our day at the fair. Good luck to Kelly, we know her beautifully constructed pillows, computer covers, cooling neckerchiefs and rugs will be a huge hit once they are shown to the public at large.........
