THINGS TO DO OVER A MID-WINTER FORTNIGHT
JANUARY 2011

When it is a cold January and we have Keekers with us at home, it is fun to have our usual Friday night La Choza take-out in the convivial atmosphere of the restaurant...............

Another January activity might be to attend a Bienvenidos Board meeting in the grand salon of the Fine Art Museum........

It is comforting that Pat has agreed to step in as president after the untimely death of our beloved Madame President--Joy...............

The gang begins arriving for a special treat..................

One they are willing to brave the frigid weather for..................

A delightful Museum tour for our own little group--followed by lunch in the Museum cafe.........

We began with a fact-filled explanation on the building and art work of St. Francis Auditorium...............

Our executive tour guide is totally knowledgeable--and really witty too............

One interesting tidbit was that the other artists who completed this suite of murals gave up their individual styles as a homage to their friend who passed away after finishing only one mural. They adhered so faithfully to his original style that it now looks like all the murals were done by only one artist..........................

The informative tour was a joy to one and all................

Another January activity could be a Saturday lunch at Atrisco..........................

"I don't LUNCH, I DINE.".............................

What could have these two so jolly?.....................

Ta Dah! (However in the spirit of full disclosure to you, gentle readers, this particular sundae is actually from the dinner at La Choza.)................................

Kiki contemplates the polar bear plunge that she will be taking shortly in Minnesota............

"Dear Lord, Please don't let me ever be soooo drunk that I think running from a hot sauna over ice to a twenty foot channel continually being rebroken in the lake as it re-freezes and swimming from one end to the other in air temputures of 15 degrees below zero, could ever possibly be fun. AMEN."........................

CHRISTMAS MORNING 2010

It's Christmas morning 2010....................

And it's time to open and share our gifts...............

Frannie is ready to start--with a nice little stack of her own............

Winston knows all about celebrating Christmas...................

Because he has the most presents of all!--Thanks to this huge loaded stocking given to him by his special friend, Tinker........................

Sorry little pets, but it's just like in the human world--some folks just get MORE presents than others........................

This Mama is thrilled with her new camera from ALL her kiddos..................

And Binks models one of her sister's new vintage hats......................

It's soooo good to be the golden child.....................

There's plenty of corned beef to enjoy through the day..........(I strongly suspect that little Mei Toy will be getting a taste from her Daddy as well)...................

AND SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS! And a good time was had by all!!

A VERY SPECIAL DAY

The pets awake thinking that it's just an ordinary day..........(Yup, four of 'em all sleeping on Dwight ( one dog, three cats)--I guess Solange is just too big to fit on the bed She was probably asleep on the sde of the bed.)

After all, the tree is taken down and all the craziness of the holidays is over..................

Kiki is busy, as usual, back on her laptop....................... And Mommie is busy, as usual--back at her daily rounds, BUT.....................

Today is not ordinary at all, because it is Giancarlo's 31st Birthday!!...............

Time to CELEBRATE!!...................
