On doctor's orders, we had to remain in Albuquerque for an additional two days after Dwight's discharge from the hospital. We kept up his daily walks by exploring our favorite neighborhood, The Spruce Park Historic Neighborhood, which is adjacent to UNM and our hotel....
One of the homes in the neighborhood with a historic plaque--this one was the home of Anna Caseman.
Being an older neighborhood, it is blessed with mature landscaping....
The homes are varying style stucco cottages from the 1920s.....
This one was working on its sloping front yard. I guess they watch "Curb Appeal".
Example of the beautiful stone trim that is common on many of the homes....

Nice yard!
A hidden hacienda....
Enough ivy for you?
Reading the morning paper in the courtyard of his stately home....
Kind of Arts & Crafts style.....

More stone window trim....
Dwight takes a rest. He is wearing his "heart hugger" vest to hold him together when he coughs or laughs and his long socks to fight off swelling.....
Mediterranean style......
Can you say SUNSET BOULEVARD?
More tile and a circle drive....

While Dwight was resting, I ran down to the Grand Retirement Residence to record the "I love D.M. 1967" on the sidewalk by the entrance. Alas! that section of sidewalk has been replaced by handicap friendly curbs etc. This was all that remained of my "walk of fame". No historic plaque has been installed to commemorate the loss either......
Rapunzel's tower?
Beautiful old trees.....
Flowers and tiles....
Yeah! He's up and moving among the living!!
