GRADUATION CELEBRATION FOR GIANCARLO--June 2011 All the preparations are complete for a special celebration for Giano's College graduation!......

Giano thought that he had graduated six years ago, but it was not to be...........

"Hey, wait a minute! I don't see any special celebrations for your beloved CAT son......"

To get back to Giano, when his diploma never came we soon found out that everybody on staff at UNM had a different opinion on what was "lacking" for completion. So after taking a handful of extra courses--some at UNM and some at SFCC, and countless discussions with counselors and department heads--all requirements are FINALLY officially completed. Hooray!.....................

GIANO TO THE RESCUE! At the last minute I realized that I forgot to make a dessert, so here he is taking out the blender to make a delicious frozen concoction out of ginger ale, a variety of my Weight Watcher snack bars and other secret ingredients...................

Chris--in his carefree pre-Daddy days--serves his food.....................

And the lovely Miss Kerry also graced our table on this happy occasion...............

As did a beaming Sisi and other members of la familia...................

Grandma and Frannie look like they have been caught on candid camera.....................

We enjoy a stimulating conversation that enhances the meal..................

Chris charms the gathering with his descriptions of his "Waiting for Baby " adventures--well, everyone but Grandpa who doesn't appear to be that amused....................

My precious son on his day in the sun..............

"Hey, if your OTHER precious son was afforded the same advantages and got to attend college, maybe I too could have my day in the sun!"

At any rate: A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!

FOURTH OF JULY 2011 IN SANTA FE Yup, he's a Yankee Doodle Dandy, born on the Fourth of July.............

From her perch on her "ivory tower" Topaz looks askance at the preparations for the day.............................

But we're all dressed up in red, white and blue to celebrate the Fourth downtown on the plaza.................

And one of our annual favorites--the antique car show..................

Waymon has picked out his favorite...............

And she's a beauty........................

Now THIS is a substantial grill.......................

A real classic................

With such dazzling details................

The guys check it out...........................

The stylish details from a bygone era...................

When the automobile was a luxury, not a necessity..................

Ralph Nava with his first love--he repurchased and refurbished his high school ride...............

A darling pick-up................

And if you "ride the dream".....................

You have a really cool interior.......................

A sporty yellow ride.....................

Speaking of "riding the dream", those Chaves are already "riding the dream"........................

I was taking a photo of this cute blue car pulling the even cuter little car, when this rude family ruined my shot..................

Oh, I guess it's not a rude family, it's the SNYDER family...................

Toooo fabulous...................

A very patriotic pick-up......................

and an all wooden one....................

This group of SFHS classmates met on the plaza.....................

Along with another classmate, Jeanne and her husband, who bought a home in Santa Fe this very day because after retirement, she's moving back--he's coming too.......................

We ran into Danny photographing this tricked out low-rider...................

I guess the owners of the low rider are not particularly P.C.................................

Another wooden pick-up..........................

Yup, even in July, I still get cold.....................

Dwight's favorites--the Caddies...................

Another American Classic............................

All guys crave a red sports car..............................

But these ladies love the red cars too..................

It's a great way to spend a mid-summer holiday morning..................

Two of my favorite former students who are now newlyweds--Kelly and Marshal.....................

Another great Car show for the Fourth..........

And then time for a festive lunch where Dwight toasts to the birthday of the USA!

Waymon chimes in with a "Pip, Pip!" with his iced tea...................

And there's a hearty "Hell, Yeah!" from Diana.........................

So, however you celebrated our great country on the Fourth of July......................

We trust that A GRAND TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!
