FIESTA FRIDAY--2012

 

 Recuperated from the huge Zozobra Party depicted in a previous post, we awake on Fiesta Friday ready to hit the festivities down on the plaza--despite dreary Fiesta weather for the second year in a row.  This cropped photo of our gang doesn't show that........

 As they say on Sesame Street:  "One of these things is not like the others......".

 Previously, Frannie met Toesette for breakfast at Tia Sophia's, and it appears that the little darling partied pretty hardy last night...........(the next three photos are also courtesy of Frannie)

 On our short walk down to the plaza, I found one of my spoons left on the sidewalk by a departing guest after last night's party.  Yes, at the end, we ran out of plastic cutlery.........

 Just a short ways further down, we discovered a beer can--obviously also from our party--who else in Santa Fe serves Tecate?.............

 And finally, we found Marcos' improvised little string belt that he jerry-rigged to keep his pants up at the party.  Oh what a night it must have been!!.........

 Once on the plaza, we enjoyed fantastic green chile burgers and got a glimpse of the Fiesta Royalty.........

I almost got a photo of the Queen, but was pleased to get a shot of this soldado instead, because he certainly has the true Fiesta Spirit.  So, until the next posting of the festive Chavez Fandango that is the highlight of Fiesta Friday:  VIVA LA FIESTA!!!
