Memorial Day dawns sunny and bright......
Map in hand, we still need to decorate some graves that we couldn't find without our map and to check-up on a few more..........

When you see the vast expanses of the National Cemetery, it is obvious why locating some graves is difficult without section and grave numbers........

Dwight actually enjoys participating in this ritual with me...........

Uncle Justy and Aunt Belle "Together Again".............
The school children from Carlos Gilbert Elementary have placed individual flags at each veteran's grave......
Uncle Joe's grave sits amid a sea of tall stones.....................

And Uncle Henry's is set amid a sea of flat stones on the same enormous hillside......
There is nostalgia and beauty in remembering our loved ones at least once a year in a ritual manner...........
Another wonderful couple, now reunited..............

Together for eternity.............
A view of the city and the distant mountains from Albert's grave site..........

A hill of remembrance...........

We left a few remembrances in this oldest section of the cemetery with graves from the Civil War Battle of Glorieta...............
Then, it's back to the adjacent Rosario Cemetery for some visits that were cut short on some of the hectic days of this special weekend...............
In addition to our wreaths, Grandma and Grandpa Gomez have some beautiful fresh red roses--left no doubt, by Angie.............
Grandpa Montoya's grave is by far the most elaborate marker for any of our family members..........
Dwight climbs the steps of the Manderfield Monument--situated on the highest spot in Rosario Cemetery........
The monument at the top of the stairs..........
Detail from the monument..........
Our decoration duties finally at an end, we return home to find the kitties engaged in their usual comfy activities....................
"Hey, who ever said it's a "Dog's World"? The cats get all the perks...............
And they aren't even "Man's Best Friend"!
An afternoon call from Frannie invites me to spend some time with her as she waits for the Roadrunner. She is going to Albuquerque to visit with her friend Amanda's family for a few days.............
We checkout the new Flying Star Restaurant in the Railyard...............
"Check this out Weight Watchers!"............
No, actually, it is for Frannie.................

My beautiful daughter awaits the train.............
The train arrives and she is off for a while. We can hardly wait to get her back again.........
