What's in the box? Seven dozen biscochitos--ordered from Giano's bakery--to take as our donation to the Capshaw Family Reunion in Oklahoma. This photo was taken early in the morning as we prepared to leave Santa Fe.....
Lunchtime found us in Amarillo, Texas where we feasted on a great steak dinner.....

Some of the other patrons in the Big Texan have been waiting for their food for quite a long time.....

High fiving a grizzly.....
Everything is bigger in Texas....
Now it's "Oklahoma or Bust" by nightfall....

At last we arrived at our hotel--The Sulphur Springs Inn--one of the original old mineral springs bath houses from the early 20th century....
The entire Inn is furnished with antique furniture and in various themes in individual rooms--we chose the "bird" room because of the view out the front of the Inn of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area immediately across the street from the Inn....
This is what is advertised as "in-room" bathroom. Because this old building was plumbed after it's original design, this was the result. There were also public bathroom facilities and showers adjacent to the mineral pools downstairs. This was really a lovely old Inn and a wonderful reminder of a simpler time now gone. More to come in the next few entries.....
